FAQs

Who are your clients?

I coach individuals and groups who seek to live authentically, focus on their core purpose and priorities, and derive deep fulfillment in their work.

My clients include working parents, attorneys, business owners, team leaders, and other “busy” people who want to invest their time wisely, move toward their big goals while being present, and take action on what really matters to them.

How do you provide coaching?

I offer tailored, confidential coaching sessions by telephone or Skype to individuals and couples. I provide one-on-one coaching in stand-alone, hourly sessions as well as for extended periods. All coaching sessions are scheduled at designated times. I also offer seminars, workshops, webinars and webcasts for small teams and large groups.

What is coaching?

Coaching is not advice-giving, but a collaborative partnership between coach and client. It is an empowering process that encourages you to start where you are, take 100% responsibility for yourself, and make changes in any area of your life, including your vocation, profession, relationships, spirituality, health and creative endeavors.  Coaching helps you navigate your unique challenges, from dissolving limiting beliefs and clarifying your direction to exploring your personal mission and living in alignment with your core values.

Coaching focuses on the present and is generally not an appropriate substitute for therapy. Coaching is designed primarily for highly functioning persons who want to unlock even greater potential and enhance their quality of life. Therapy is more past-oriented and is usually geared to troubled individuals who want to resolve past issues, heal trauma, or deal with a psychological disorder. Short term, solution-focused counseling is more similar to coaching than long term psychoanalysis.

How soon can I expect results from coaching?

The answer often depends on the depth and complexity of your issue, how stuck you are, and how willing you are to do the work that needs to be done. Most clients begin to gain traction and experience positive change after one or two sessions, but some require a longer time.

Coaching is most effective when you are more focused on “what is” (the present) and “what’s next” (the future), rather than “what went wrong” (the past). You also need to take action that will help you deal with or change the situation that troubles you. Talking about your problems and brainstorming solutions without actual follow-up are not enough.

To truly benefit from coaching, you need to be open to honest feedback, willing to accept responsibility instead of blaming others for your struggles, keen on new approaches and ideas, and ready to let go of old patterns.

What can I talk about in a coaching session?

Coaching sessions may cover a broad range of life issues, such as using your time effectively, dealing with job burnout, resolving personal conflict, simplifying and decluttering your life, and opening up to challenges. The most effective approach, however, is to focus on a specific area instead of tackling multiple things at once.

I help you hone in on your key thoughts and beliefs that are creating uncomfortable feelings and driving the behavior you want to change. I give you tools to tap into your inner resources and generate answers that lie within. I also hold you accountable to your action plan in a supportive, non-judgmental way.

Why do I need you as a coach?

The answers lie within you. And only you can take action that lines up with how you want to feel and be every day.

But if you’re feeling stuck, if you’re tired of making excuses, if you’re fed up with the blame-game, or if you’re scared about making a decision, you’ll benefit from having me as your coach.

I’ll be your catalyst for change. I’ll help you face discomfort. I’ll guide you in making life-affirming choices from a place of abundance and inspiration. That way, you don’t have to face the journey alone, or rely on friends and family members who might be lost themselves or have their own personal agendas.
